Job Description:

The Windows System Administrator is responsible for planning, implementing, configuring, maintaining, and problem resolution for Windows servers. The incumbent will interface with Managers and other peers to provide lifecycle support of the Windows platforms; enforce compliance of policies, procedures and work instructions; perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, incident and problem management, change and configuration management, and service level performance. The incumbent will provide technical mentorship to other team members, and build strong relationships with technical staff, senior management and supported client base.
* Ability to drive overall architecture, security, testing and certifications of Windows system
* Assist in the architecture, and implement the solution in support of project schedules and resources
* Manage and assess the risk of server maintenance and version updates
* Monitor Windows technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities, and integrating new technologies into the data center environment
* Provide Windows Administration functionality which includes:
o Installing and configuring new hardware and system software
o Responding to technical queries
o Server Virtualization
o Performing routine audits of systems
o Server maintenance and troubleshooting
o System monitoring and performance tuning
o Business continuity, disaster recovery planning and testing, and configuration documentation
o Analyze system logs and identify potential issues
o Responsible for system integrity, backup, and recovery
o Responsible for server builds, security, and transition to production
o Provide 24x7 server and data center support
o Coordinate and implement server patches, upgrades, and configuration changes

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

Basic Qualifications:

6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters
Candidates should have experience in the following:
* High Knowledge in Windows Operating System
* High Knowledge in server virtualization (VMWare, ESX)
* High Knowledge in identifying and resolving issues across multiple environments
* High Knowledge in physical server design
* High Knowledge in backup and recovery
* High Knowledge implementing, patching, and upgrading server operating systems and hardware
* High Knowledge in server change management and through the various states of the life cycle
* High Knowledge in computer security techniques
* High Knowledge in oral and written communications skills
* Highly proficient customer service skills
* Possesses scripting proficiency
