Upload Your Professional Profile Photo
Overview:
updated 3/11
Out & Equal's LGBTCareerLink is a professional networking site where employers are looking at your resumes and browsing profiles on the people page. Your profiles are also forwarded to appropriate employers. To make sure your profile is selected for further consideration, it is very important that you adhere to our guideliness.
If you are uploading a photo with your profile (and it's a good idea to do so since your photo is automatically promoted to the people tab and gets more exposure)-it should always be a traditional "headshot" in which you appear as if you are ready to get to work. You do not need a professional photographer to take this photo, any friend with a digital camera can take the picture for you. It should be taken mid-chest or shoulders up. You should wear at a minimum office casual-preferable full business attire in the photo.
Candidates who are posting casual profile shots will be contacted to upgrade their photo to a more appropriate headshot.
The photo appearing here is an example of an appropriate professional profile photo
Description:
Profile Photographs Your profile photo should be one that invites employers to look at your entire profile and resume. In no way do you have to be at the top of the beauty scale or be a certain size, race or class. However, there are some profile photos that attract more employer clicks than others.
